black 1st gens or 3rd gen halos

what would look better on a black ss/sc also is there any problems people have had with either? how hard are they to install and how do you get the blue light?

Personal opinion...black on black looks nice! Go with 3rd gens...as people have had problems with the 1st gens peeling..myself included. I use those as my winter set, and my 3rd gens that i have now as my summer set. normal plug and play for the headlights...as far as the LED's go, either wire them into the parking light, or u could go through the route of doing a toggle switch on them.(which i did) the blue light is all with the bulb. lol unless u go HID's.

I've had 1st gens for 3 years now and haven't had problems with pealing but I wax them whenever I wash the car. Only problem I've had is aligning them and one of the halo's got a sortof yellow-ish glare... I'm planning on changing all the LEDs for ultra bright white ones this summer.

I've got the 1st gen with the blue LED's and blue halos too....but like i said..i've had a problem with mine peeling. That's awesome that WolfMastR hasn't had problems. Maybe that's why myself and others have had problems with them peeling....didnt actually wax the lens after everywash. lol either way..go with black house. Looks awesome on our black cars.

I had the 1st gen chrome housings on my old 2.4L Cobalt. I had them on for well over a year, I had 8,000K HID's from Vision Bulbs.

I did NOT have any problems with them peeling, but with the halos bulbs shorting out...

So I consider myself an expert on chaning out the bulbs for the halos.

yeah i have 1st generations and they have been pissing me off lately the left headlight condensate's
it pourrrrrrrrred on Monday and pretty much the whole headlight was filled with condensation
i mean it all gets out but it still pisses me off. but its weird because it only does it every so often. i got my car washed today and it didn't do it.
its weird. i kinda want to get different generation but don't really feel like pissing the money on them nor wiring up the halos and leds since i didn't do them my buddys bro did since he has projectors in his dodge ram

Cobalat08SS i've had the same problems with mine as well....think it may have been a bad batch of 1gen headlights....but no problems with the halos shorting out.

mine do the same damn thing...i just took silicone to it hoping to block any potential condensation but it still does it...
