Blue headlights???

I was wondering if anyone knows the best headlight bulbs to buy that have a nice blue look to them and are street legal. I just have the OEM headlights and fog lights

Do you want an HID kit or those cheap( under $50) things you can buy from an auto parts store?

No...REAL HID bulbs need ballests to work. Fake "HID" bulbs are what u can buy for under $50.

You can buy an HID kit for your stock housing.

Try this:

And This

To learn more about HID's.

The only way to get that look is to get HIDs. If you're going to do HIDs, you need to get projector housings. Check out this thread. The driver's side is 8000k HID, and the passenger side is the regular halogen bulb before I changed it. I wouldn't go any higher than 8000k because your visibility will start to decrease.

get on ebay and look up stuff for the balt. it will bring up blue bulbs for it and they are cheap so you're just as well to buy two sets at one time cuz they wont last long.

Honestly, anything you buy from Luminics, Nokya, etc will be just fine. I've used everything. Silverstars, Nokya, Luminics, APC, etc. The thing I liked about the Luminics / Nokyas was that they sold both 9007's AND H11's, so everything matched. I'm considering buying a pair of HID's for my 9007's and H11's, but I may not. I also added an extra set of fogs, but I might just make those either totally yellow or blue as just marker lights basically.. Basically on a scale of 1-10, stockers are like 3, auto-store Xenons are like 6/7, and HID's are 10. That's basically the breakdown.

On a side note, I would buy projectors for our Cobalts if they looked good. Ours look booty. Period.

Also, there are indeed factory HID's. They're generally in projector housings (TSX), but they also come in standard housings (the older style 3.2 TL).

I've seen many local cars with HID's. It depends based on the brand of HID's and the model of the car it is if there's alot of glare or not. Some are nice and clean, others are super annoying. I used to run Nokya Hyper-Whites in my car, and everyone always thought they were HID's. It's all in what you want.

I don't want to be an ass, but when I'm on the road, the most important thing to me is MY safety. If I can't see, that doesn't help me out too much, now does it? If I run HID's and I can see, that's cool. If I run crappy lights and can't see ****, that doesn't work. I'm not going to run crappy lights and not be able to see just because people whine about HID's. BOO HOO.

im not going to waste my money for a $800 retrofit, and the cheap ass ebay projectors are ****, they all have something that goes wrong with them, HIDs look good in our stock assembly. they are not bad at all if you aim them down a bit.

i was looking into a hid in a stock housing and in a projector housing, and the projector hurt my eyes worse than the stock one...

HIDS in stock housings ftw!

OP is in Canada so stop posting laws that mean nothing whatsoever. And "blue" is illegal, but I'm pretty sure he just wants bluish looking projectors with HID in the the 6000K+ range, lots of cars have these stock.

still dose not make it legal.

6000k are not as obviously blue as 8000K+ so you could probably slide with 6000k.

Newp, they're not. Factory the highest Kelvin you will see in a car is I wanna say 5000K. Most common is 4100K. The headlights are pure white. What makes them look blue or purple is the cut off beam given off by the projector lens. When you see solid blue in a BMW or Mercedes for example it is because someone swapped out the bulbs.

He didn't specify, so i posted that up as clarification. I don't see a problem with answering his question about blue lights being illegal or not.

Thanks G85, im going to go with possibly a luminics or something that has a mild blue to it so it is not an instant flag to be pulled over. I see lots of cars in New Brunswick with aftermarket blue bulbs that are alot more blue than i would like.

Yea...I'm not trying to rain on your parade or anything, just want people to realize what is illegal or not so they don't get something illegal, get pulled over and thing they were legal all along.

Although I did post the Florida State Statute for headlights, those laws usually run uniform from state to state and are pretty close in other countries. Also, some countries are a lot more strict than here, but I just posted it as a tool for you to go by.

hansenr3....since everyone threadjacked you i might as well give u the answer you're looking for...G85 was correct, i installed nokya bulbs around 1.5 years ago and havent had a bulb burn out on me. i went with the "hyper white" because i too only wanted a slight blue color. The bulb itself is blue but when u turn the lights on its basically more white with a bluish tint...they're perfect and i believe under they're only abut 30 bucks
