boost gauge bulb

boost gauge bulb

can you change out the boost gauge bulb...maybe replace it with a led bulb...ive seen it done before on the cobalt and the stock srt-4 boost gauge...

are you talkin bout the stock ss boost gauge? bein its autometer it should have a hole with a sticker over it on the back and the bulb will be behind that. autometer actually sells leds and bulb covers to replace them with for changed color.

I'm pretty sure this has been discussed before and the verdict was no...

But you can buy a new gauge in the color you want from autometer

I thought the stock boost gauge from autometer is unlike the other gauges. Not too acknowledgable in the subject but aren't most gauges drawn off a vacuum line??? Either way there was a thread about the stock gauge somehow taps off of the PCM, more of an electrical thing. They stated that at Autometer, it has a different department that takes care of OEM pieces. So the designs and "mode of operation" can be completely different..... Just don't quote me on any of this

ya the stock boost gauge is electrical and most aftermarket boost gauges are mechanical which is more accurate i have heard.
