But you DO speak American, some of the stuff you have is so bass-ackwards...

As for the lights, I hope the OP drives everywhere with those on so he/she eventually gets pulled over and issued a large tax bill for impersonating a police car.

No one in this thread actually knows what they are talking about.

RICE IS AN OPINION. NOT A FACT ISSUE.

Anything can be considered rice to a person.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Rice burner is a pejorative describing Japanese-made — or by extension, Asian-made — motorcycles and automobiles.[1][2][3][4] The term is often defined as offensive or racist stereotyping.[5][6][7] In some cases users of the term assert that it is not offensive or racist,[8][9] or else treat the term as a humorous, mild put-down rather than a racial slur.[10][11][12]

Variations are rice rocket (used mostly but not exclusively[13][14] for superbike motorcycles from Japan), rice machine, rice grinder or simply ricer. The pejorative is often intended to denigrate cars which have been modified cosmetically to give a false impression of high performance, but not actually capable of it. The accusation behind this is that the car has been customized with the intent to fool people. The term is most often used against east Asian made vehicles where the population is presumed to subsist on a diet of rice.

was thinking the same thing and it does misrepresent the car.
Which the lighting could also do. Granted not well.

But if you follow the intent to fool guideline then yes by the wiki definition the car is rice.

explain. because im having a hard time seeing the connection.

The japanese didnt really invent the class.
Matter of fact when hondas were still making 60-100hp with an SOHC motor GM had a 180hp+ dohc motor.

And I dont know about you I didnt buy my cobalt because of how much like a civic it is. I bought it because it was a good deal.

i think his and mine are similar. theres a 3 button switch. 1 for the actual foglights and 2 to change colors of the halo rings

Probably didn't even use fuses, relays, or ground side switches.

I dont see how you're missing it. This car was designed to sell based on the popularity of how the japanese sport compact car area has done. No one thinks of chevrolet or GM for that matter as a dominant sport cmpact company or as a company that has anything to do with the start of the "sport compact culture"

In short what I'm saying is, what do you think is said about us who own and american made car dsigned to be a copy of what the japanese have been doing for years before a cobalt, ion, srt-4, focus svt, or any other types of american type sport compacts. If you use a derogatory term such as "RICE" toward them, what term do you think they use toward us for copying their style?

ibtl BTW. Good work to the OP. I would never do anything like that to my car, not because of the looks or w/e, but for the fact that i hate wiring ****, which is the only reason why my nitrous kit is in my car not wired up...lol.

wiring for that is cake. But you will rarely actually be able to turn it on, once a 5-0 sees that, its comming out.

Hate to break this to you but America has always had a compact class. And have routinely made a slightly sportier version of them dating back to at least the 60s though im sure I could find examples of it before that. Also copies usually imply that they are inferior to the original. All the cobalt truly gives up to the "japanese original" is interior quality but performs far above it. And well before Honda made a high output engine for a "sports compact" Gm had done it years before. So again you fail. While honda had a measly 90hp si GM had a 180hp sports compact. Read up on your history. Japanese are given credit for it but the domestic cars were there first.

Once again you must be special...I didnt say compact class!!! SPORT COMPACT CLASS...Nissan, Honda, and Toyota have been doing this much longer than GM, i.e. engine swaps, 4 banger turbo/supercharged setups. Do you really expect to use a cavalier, sunfire, escort, or any of the american cars of the past to be compared to what the japanese have been doing far before. Like I said special!! Btw, that whole FAIL thing is getting retarded...I swear one of you use a word on this site and everyone copycats the same thing, quit being like everybody else!

Again look up your history. Ford was doing that back in the 60's making a sport compact. The term hadnt been coined no. But the japanese werent hardly the ones who created the class. And honestly yes. When the D16s and Even the early H and B series engines were cranking out 80-140hp GM was doing 180hp. And compact class is the sport compact class you idiot. Just because they have an infusion of sport in the compact class does not change there EPA class rating. Read up on history then you wont look like such an idiot.
