changing seats?

Hey guys..

I've got an SS n/a coupe, and hate the damn seats. lol. I don't want the leathers or anything. I really like the RL/SC Recaro seats though. I know they're a direct bolt in. But they're also costly. I don't want the rears, just the fronts. Unless they're the SC ones, then they'll bolt right in. Regardless, they are expensive. I was curious as to any other options. I've always loved the DC5 RSX seats and the EP3 Civic Si seats. They look great, are well bolstered, and mega comfortable. Are those able to be bolted in at all? I wasn't sure how much wider they'd be or anything. I know guys put racing seats into their Cobalts, and these are pretty similar to those, so I figure something may be able to be worked out. Or should I really just figure on waiting on a set of RL/SC Recaros and saying screw it?

Thanks guys..

I got my RL Recaros on eBay. It was a local pickup, but after it was all said and done, it cost me $195 for the fronts.

I have a SS/Sc w/ G85 and no Recaro's. I bought a set (just front's) from a member here and LOVED THEM!!! The were from a RL my problem with them was that damn Airbag sensor... If U have the Recaro's out of a Delta car, U could always swap back in the bladder for the airbags. But if U got after market or RSX, U couldn't. And I believe if your ever in an accident the ari bags will not work right ...

there is a vendor that makes cobalt seat brackets for aftermarket seats, once you have those you should be able to put virtually anything.

Link by chance? Any fabrication necessary or will it be kinda bolt in?

But if I get the RL Recaros I will lose my airbags? Do the SC ones do that?

I swapped out the bottom seat pan of the passenger seat with the stock one so it uses the airbag sensor. No problems here!

try and find the specs on the seats, you should be able to mount them to the bracket 10x easier than trying to fab one up yourself. I bet Gravana can help you if u email them with the exact seats you want to put n

I think you'd loose the airbags with out staying in the Recaro's in the Rl / SS....

In them RL recaro's, u can swap in the airbag sensor... Aftermarket U can't and U loose your airbag sensor.

(I donno if U can swap the sensor plate into Aftermarket... ir RSX seats or Civic Si seats)

How easy is this "air bag sensor swap" for the RL seats? Would I have to do this for the SC seats?

Damn. Does this apply to 2006 too? If I get SC seats will I have to do this, or is it only for RL seats?
