Cleaning Grime From Valve Cover..??
Hey guys,
So, my engine bay isn't anything to drool over, but my gross ass valve cover is starting to **** me off. I have all this burnt on brown bullshit inside the well where you bolt the coil-packs down and it's not going anywhere. It seems like it was just general road debris that over time with the heat, that it just melted to the valve cover. The rest of the cover isn't really grimey, just dull. So I have two main questions here..
1) What do I use to get the grimey crap out of the valve cover well? How is the best way to successfully go about doing that?
2) How do I polish the valve cover up a bit? What should I use?
For the cleaner, I figure maybe an oven-cleaner type spray with a few Brillo pads maybe? And for the polishing, I'm not looking for a show-quality mirror shine, but just a little sprucing it up. Just so it's not so dull.Trying to do an engine bay spray down here soon and I want to address all issues at once..
Thanks!!

you could try WD-40 lubricant! won't hurt anything under the hood, and is great for cleaning grease and grime! friend of mine, who's a member on here once used it to wipe down his whole car! took off all the road tar and baked on grime from the paint! car looked amazing afterwards! a good soapy wash afterwards of coarse!
