You could make it yourself with LED's.

Here a pic that I posted on the last page that shows you how I wired it up. The orangish/gold thing is my resistor that I soddered into the blinker/brake lights. The connection is pretty much plug and play after that. As you can see I just carefully broke the black plastic around the passat wires and plugged the wires into the cobalt harnesses. Then I just put electrical tape around them so they wouldn't pull out and to protect them.

They wont look as good then cause you will see each individual led. On mine you can't see the leds individually cause of the way the reflectors are set up on the housing.

Wow... you should sell those, no joke you could make a killing assuming you have the time to make them. I'd buy a set, no question.

You make me a basic wiring diagram and I'm all over making these, I already did the "skyline mod" to my interior lights and i think this would really look sweet next to them.

Actually come to think of it, are the inner lights the same diameter as the outer lights? Maybe someone could do a double passat retrofit.

HOLY OLD THREAD!!!!

As far as I know I am the only one with tail lights like this. I do know that there is a set that has been halfway done for a long time and aren't finished. The only problem with this project is the cost and avialability of the passat lights. Granted I haven't looked for a set in a while but about a year ago they were still hard to find and really hard to find a set for a decent price.

Very carefully! Seriously though I had to drill holes because the mounts on the passat housings don't line up with the holes. I dont really recall exactly how I fastened it because it has been a long time since I have taken them out.
