The cobalt wingless look???
The cobalt wingless look???
Ok as most of us desire the wingless look it has become quite impossible to find a person on this site or just cruising the streets who will want to trade the trunk for a trunk with a huge wing like ours...So i think i have figure that i want to just buy a new trunk and get it painted or even plug up the holes and fill em in and paint it??
Has anyone else gone this route??? I have gotten some estimates done and i have been told to fill it and paint it it will cost in the neighborhood of 350 dollars and to buy a new trunk about 500 for the trunk not including paint

Black rims + Orange Cobalt looks good. I have Black rims, and with the tint, Painted headlights / bowtie, it all comes together nicely.
If I have some extra money lying around, I may go with the hood, but, either way, it will look good with CB.

I had a shop weld it and paint it although I took the wing off myself, pulled the tail lights, trunk lock etc. That saves a few bucks.
my car is going in tuesday to have my SS/SC wing and trunk key lock shaved and repainted. I know some people at the body shop that is doing this so in all it is going to cost me $200 for everything. Plus i get to drive a 2006 ion RL with the comp. package for 2 days
I'll post pics when i get it back on thursday!

The stock new GM trunk is really pricey . Youd be much better off having your holes welded and reapainted . I went wingless for about a year , and never got to a point I wanted to blow money to have that done
So I bought used silver Ls spoiler off a 07 for the amaing price of 40 bux ...FTW
Either looks good IMO , as long as the parkbench is gone .

Chiming in here..... I have done the body shop route. they had to do it twice cause of shrinkage. that is caused by not waiting long enough between application of products or it can be just to humid. the body shop was good about and now it looks very good. I would try to find that elusive trunk though. that is the way to go. I also got rid of the cylinder lock too and antenna so the holes on the top of the trunk may as well have been done as well.
/\/\/\ did they re-paint the entire right rear quarter when you did the antenna? the shop that is doing mine said they would rather repaint the whole quarter than try to blend black. I'm really up in the air about doing the antenna because of this.
I just took mine off last night. The holes that it left are nasty. I did what silverSS/SC did and cover the holes with viynl until I get a low rise spolier. Does anyone have a low rise arrival blue spolier they want to sell/trade? Let me know!

I like SSnipes's antenna shaved. I really want to shave mine, but I'm not willing to have the quarter panel repainted yet. I had my trunk welded shut, smoothed, and repainted for $320. I sold the spoiler on Ebay for $225, so it only cost me $95 to have my trunk shaved. Here are some more pics for you to decide.

You know 2K5, I really like the way that looks with the stock rims. Those black ones just don't seem to go well with your car.
I'm also wondering, why didn't you get the trunk key shaved when you shaved the rest?
