custom antennae delete

i barely ever listen to radio so i decided to take off my antennae and put a bolt and washer on the thread and it turned out really nice. check it out.

I used to have a vacuum plug on mine, similar to the OP.
I recently switched and here is the part number for my antenna 25805645, it was $22.14 shipped from GMPartsDirect.com

Doc you did this too? this is what I did.... it looks phenomenal and i still have full reception

pick up that antenna... fits some models and in my case it was a quick drill and retap.

Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead...but does anyone know if this Opel antenna is 6mm or 7mm? I saw it and was just getting ready to order it...then decided I had better check...

I have an '08, so I believe I'm in need of a 7mm antenna...

i got rid of mine when it was painted. i just took a vacuum plugand covered the threads. worked out great and looked like it should be there

vacuum caps work really well with this. i actually still get reception when i go into the city. but rarely listen to the radio. MP3 and Cd's for me.

Mostly by how close/far your are from the headquaters.

I cut my SC intenna to about 2 inches and caped it. My radio was fine.
