ok cool, so i could just upgrade the outer 2 to LED, and then get the inner reverse lights in red LED and rewire them to the outer lights

probably gunna get working on this when i get some extra cash and time

how would it be different, the inners would be wired to the outers so they would do the exact same thing

sadly no. the outers are going to be either led or filament but light up the entire housing. So the parking light lights it half way with the brake/turn signal making it brighter. The inners will have a red small circle that will do one of the 2 parking light or turn signal and possibly the halo doing the second one

the vette you posted had both sides with the halos as running lights and the center of each the brake/turn signal

i have thought this over way too much for my own use so trust me

I did something similar to my tails, but the brightness doesn't match well since the strips I used on the inners are much dimmer. They can't really be seen during the day but at night they're ok. I have a few ideas kicking around in my head but I need to find LEDs that are bright enough to match the outer lights to make it work.

I have tails that do as you describe, the Corvette style full brake, turn, and park lights.
They come in FIVE different styles from GMAddiction (Cobalt-Addiction). And they come with the wiring to do everything, with simple male/female connectors.

Daytime pics to show the middle does stick out a bit.

no i dont want it like that with the halos

just i want the lights, so i would only replace my 2 tail lights and 2 reverse lights with some red LEDs

then rewire the inner lights to the outers. there would be no halos

ok what you need is two led strips to go around the inners, you'll need 2 adjustable resistors to be able to dim the lights down for the runnin light part and 4 diodes to keep power from tryin to go backwards throu the two wires goin to the lights. hold on a minute and i'll find the how to on it. i've walked another guy on here throu it. as far as matchin goes. get a set of led tails like i have. they look just like stock outters but have leds in them.

lot of money lol

im gunna get 4 LED strips and put them in all 4 lights

wire the LED strips to the brake light and turn signals

then replace the reverse light with a red bulb and wire it to the running light only

so the 4 stock lights will be running lights only, the 4 LEDs will be brake/parking lights only

You can't swap lenses out, but IPCW does have two sets that look like stock. One normal red lenses, and one red and smoked lenses.

sound like your going for the corvette look where they both run and blink when you turn....you need a resistor to add to both sides since you will be taking the power from both your outer lights...and you will also need...a diode i believe....and of course some kind of light inside the inner lights...since the only light in them is the back up light

why would i need a resistor and diode?

why couldnt i just tap it into the original tail lights considering those already have all that **** wired into them

i know what im saying is probably hard to understand, does anyone have a wiring diagram for the rear tail lights/reverse lights that i could maybe do a photoshop of

the outer dots connected by a thin red wire are LED strips, and the big red dots in the middle are the stock lights
i am going to worry about doing something else for the reverse lights at a later date

i might just find like a cheap set of fog lights and mount them under the bumper so they shine down and create a glow..... idk yet but i will work it out

but with that diagram, would it work? i wouldnt need resistors/diodes because i would have 2 separate lights working

why dont you try and mount 2 led white lights into the stems on your spoiler? that would look bad ass if you found the right lights to put in there imo

if you read my write up ...i just spliced wires to make my inners as running lights only. the colors tell you wich is for the running lights. the other wire would in theory be for the brake/turn signal light.good luck

just split two wires from the center brake light to the reverse lights and when you brake, the reverse lights will light up, but only the outsides would be turn signals. thats what i did

ps, go into your fuse box and replace the 10 amp fuse for the brakes to a 20 amp (if you wanna ensure it wont blow put a 25 amp in)
