Not a waste at all. They'd have to engineer a whole new mold. That would cost wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too much. Also every mold is good for a few thousand molded parts. Then they gotta replace it with a new one. This is where aftermarket parts come in.... And that is the reason they never fit either.
