Be carefull in what polishes you use, buffing pads, and rotary tools that you use because you can eat through your paint pretty quick if you are not carefull. The best method with polishes is to take your time and go slow.

Polish is an abrasive that actually smooths your clearcoat somewhat (higher grit than sandpaper for the most part). Wax is used to coat and smooth the surface. You can use both, but polish first and then wax.
