do you re-install your high-rise? ENTER!!!

Hey guys,

So, I'm having a bit of an issue. My car was factory low-rise. I swapped trunks for a high-rise. I then removed the high-rise and ran spoiler-less (with holes) for awhile. I then re-bought a high-rise and re-mounted it. Here's where the problem begins..

The first time I mounted it, the tape didn't stick at all. I'm using the 3M adhesive by the way.. I was told that it was because it was cold. Ok, fair enough. So I put the car in the garage, super taped it back up, mounted, etc. I had stuff on it weighing it down overnight. I came back out, and the one side is real on there, and the other side is half stuck down. So the one side is fully stuck, and the other side is slightly moveable. It's not a real big deal, it's just highly aggravating..

What did you do the mount the spoiler successfully? I figure that mounting a low-rise would be easy because you can actually put weight directly on the top of the posts to be mounted.. But you can't on the high-rise because of the top piece and the design.. I'm in a bit of a tizzy over it, and I'm highly considering just ripping it off - again..

Help!!

It isn't going anywhere, but when you lift up on the not as stuck down side, it pulls up a bit. Most people wouldn't care, but I'm very picky about stupid **** like that..

Are you using 3m VHB (Very High Bond) tape?

just make an outline around the base of the spoiler with the 3 m tape and on the inside of that put a thick layer of silicone gasket maker. thats what i did, worked like a charm. good luck

Yes, it's the industrial grade 3M.. I also used automotive sealant as well (glue type thing) inside the crevices that I couldn't get tape to fully cover.. The one side is fine, but for some reason the other is not.. I think I'm just gonna pull it off today and go from there.. Might put it back on.. May not..

The wing is bolted down yes but there is still wiggle room no matter how hard you tighten the bolts. Thats why you need the sticky stuff or whatever your choice is, i have to do this so i dont have a wobbly ass wing when i drive to Panama city beach on saturday for spring break!

How do you remove the center piece? I removed the spoiler tonight at work, but if I get a solid way to install it without it being fucked up again, I may..

Pop off the side panels, undo the bolts. The side panels are taped on, so you'll have to get the floss out.
