Ebay Armrest

Hi all,

I was looking for a GM armrest on Ebay and ran across this:

http://cgi.ebay.ca/Chevrolet-COBALT-...QQcmdZViewItem

Based on a quick search on here, I couldn't find any information on it and the two buyers I could track down that bought a Cobalt/G5 one have opposing views of it. I know I can get the GM one for the autos but there is something I like about this Ebay unit. The guy has great feedback and people genuinely seem to like his products.

Thoughts?

In your pics it looks like you have the GM factory one as opposed to this aftermarket style. Did you have this one at one time or do you just dislike the factory one?

i like it! no rub on the seats! it would look really good in the ss/sc or any with black leather, altho i dont like the amount of storage it shows in the pis, it looks like it will only hold a ipod mini or something lol

I actually contacted the guy about the width and length and it is about 10" in length while the lid in the picture is about 5.5". He did let me know if that was too wide, he also makes a 4.5" wide one that fits on this too. The smaller one would probably work well for those with Recaros.

I'm almost tempted to try the product out but hopefully someone has some experience with them that is one here.

i hate the factory one, it gets in the way, although its nice on a long highway drive if i dont have to shift. but other than that it started wearing the seats within 2 weeks of me owning the car

Yeah the GM one looks a little too big for my liking. I've heard of a lot of people complaining about wear on the seats from these. Wouldn't a solution for this be to put some of that 3M clear masking that goes on the front of cars onto the sides of the seats? If you placed it properly, no one should really notice and it should prevent wear since it blocks out rock chips...
