engine bay wire tuck

alright so im working on the engine bay this winter and i have everything tore apart right now. I was going to take the ugly headlight harness that runs right across the front of the engine bay and tuck it away. Only problem is the airbag sensor. Dont know if i can cut and extend the wires for it without messing anything up. So question is has anyone done this yet? I looked through numerous pages of engine pictures and no one seems to have yet. If so please post up a picture if you could!

Sounds like a good idea, but I'd be super nervous messing with anything related to the air bag system

disconnect the negative battery cable, wait for capacitors to discharge and as long as you can solder good then i wouldnt worry about the air bag wires. they say you shouldnt mess with them but its been done

well i did it yesterday. didnt even cut a single wire. Just depinned them and put it through a hole by the sensor. It looks 10x's better now that the headlight harness is hidden away now i just gotta get rid of the studs that the harness was on. Also got rid of that stupid washer fluid line that gm just decided to run across the engine bay. Shes all tucked away and out of sight Ill post pics when i finish up the engine bay just gotta paint a few things and she'll be set.

That was the point, lol. I dont see the need to take all that extra time and run the risk of messing up something, by tucking our engine bays. lol.

after seeing that picture.

Tucking on a cobalt is the biggest waste of time ever. You moved a couple wires and have a dozen more tubes and hoses you can't get rid of.

Stop being OCD and enjoy the car the way it is.

Sorry that post wasn't there when i was posting.

On a basic naturally aspirated engine it can look good, but not on many of the SS cars due to extra super or turbos

were not talking about doing a complete wire. were talking about moving some simple hoses wiring and hiding them to look cleaner. you guys can find anything to bitch about

I want to do an engine bay tuck. Route the charge pipe under the car to the driver side of the intercooler. Tuck the intake down and under the car. If we only had wireless power, the whole tuck thing would be a non issue.
