Cool Engine Dress Up. Opinions Please

Hey all, I just wanted to get some opinions on some things. I've tried doing a search and haven't found all too much yet.
Basically I'm asking what you think about engine dress up. Just something to make it look a little different. Please give some reasons other then "tHaT lOoK rIcEr!@!@" please.

1) Braided metal hose covers. Saw these at a store and they go over your other hoses. I'm not sure if I like them or not. I like something other then black, so the silver looks good there.

2) Replacing the black wire covers with color wire covers. The Split loom stuff. I bought some Blue for my Cavalier, but didn't get to do too much with it before it was totaled.

3) Silicone hoses. Replacing the other hoses with Silicone colored hoses. I think this looks pretty decient for the vacuum hoses.

4) Painted and Polished Valve Covers. I think I saw one somewhere on here for a Carbon Fiber one. Looked pretty cool and had the Ecotec Supercharged on it.

5) Painted Brackets. The brackets that hold the radiator and other things in place that are usually black.

6) Carbon Fiber this and that. Basically anything else that could be dressed in Carbon Fiber. I remember seeing lots of this back with my cavy.

7) Sway Bars. I plan on getting one anyways, mostly for what it does, and not for the look, but I still want to know what others think.

Basically this is all out of the Haynes Xtreme Sport Compact Performance book that I got a long while ago.
I just wanted to get some opoinions before I do anything.

just don't go overboard and it will look sweet, also don't get the first thing to come to market, let several companies compete... you'll save money and may get a better looking product.

My belief: It's your car, do what you want to do with it. Don't let other peoples opinion's influence you when your set on doing something. If you do get some or all of the stuff done, post some pics for us. Everyone here loves pictures.

In any art work if it is done right and looks good then it will be a cool. All of the things you metions are good ideas except for the

Go for the real ones with the fittings.

Still, Its fun to have. I like the idea of opening my hood and having it look all special. I don't plan on spending hundreds just to dress it up, just a couple extra bucks here and there. I think it looks really nice when done well.

I agree on the wire loom though. I thought it looked pretty cool, but now I'm not too sure. What would you suggest as a replacement? I think I remember hearing someone say to use something else.
