A/F gauge install
A/F gauge install
Sorry if this is in the wrong section, couldn't decide if it should go here or LSJ tech. I read the how to on installing an A/F gauge, but am insanely confused and no ones going to read thru that thread being 2 years old to answer my question. I bought the Autometer A/F gauge just for having some gauges in my dash, I know it is not accurate. After reading thru the how to on installing, it seems the best way to hook up the purple(signal) wire is to tap into the signal wire directly off the 1st o2 sensor instead of fishing thru numerous wires in the harness and coming across 3 other purple wires, correct? And also, it showed powering the gauge thru a fuse under the hood. In the install manual it says to tap into a 5amp fuse outlet with the one in the how to being 20amp. Is that ok, I dont need to go frying my computer or anything else. Anywhere else I can power this thing up to? Thanks for any help, its appreciated.
i installed the gauge myself and went to a local performance shop to wire it up. The guy there told me that piggy-backing the power off of a fuse was a bad way to go. He ended up running power from somewhere under the driver side of the dash. It's late now, i'll try to get pics tomorrow
