factory spoiler removal....

does anyone know how to remove the factory spoiler? i took the four nuts off of the bottom side of the trunk lid but it seems to be glued or something.. i've pulled and pulled at it but still cant seem to get it off? any suggestions? i have a ss/sc spoiler i want to put on it..

did you try tapping on the bolts that stick through the trunk that attach to the spoiler?

I haven't really looked at how our spoilers are mounted...I'm actually assuming they're mounted that way from previous GM cars

might just be stuck to the seal between the spoiler and trunk from constant pressure

Yea they have an industrial double sidded foam tape on it. It is a major pain in the ass. what i did was use a window scraper and when i lifted the spoiler i started to scrape the tape off and just slowly worked it up on both sides once you get it off you have to use goo gone and continue to scrape it off and then use more of the same foam tape on the new spoiler.

damn.. sounds like it is a real pain in the ass.. i guess i just need to wait till it warms up a lil before i swap the spoilers out then so i know the new double sided tape will stick good.. thanks for the help..

dude lol fishing line.. works PERFECT used it to debage my car

just like almost "floss" around it..

thats how mine came off. it takes a while and depending on the string it will take a few strands. but that way works pretty good.

ZACH whats goin on bro!!... i saw pics that you ended up putting your spoiler back on? good now.. lets see who wins down the track i cant wait.. i have my TD and short shifter still to put in..

no racing the cobalt lol its possibly wounded. ill explain later. i think i migfht actually get rid of it. im looking at an impala ss for more room
