i know this is an old post, but it wont be the relay, because it would effect the flashers also. did this happen b4 you replaced ur bulbs?

sounds like a bad bulb/low resistance bulb

that what i was thinking, however if the problem was happening before the bulbs were replaced, then it has to be wiring.

I have the same issue because I switched to all LED, it's most likely the resistance

Standard bulbs you say? Did you get a type with a lower power draw?

Anyways, as far as hyper flashing not occurring on the hazzards, that is by design. The hazzard flasher part of the BCM ignores the bulb burn out check.

^^^ regardless of that or not the flashers would still flash faster because of the low resistance.. u kinda countradicted your self on that one and as far as i know their are no "low resistance" bulbs sold so no theirs no "lower power draw"

before you do anything you need to figure out why the bulbs are hyperflashing did you replace the bulbs with leds? if so then yes you do need to add resistors. If the bulbs are just standard bulbs, then theirs another issue.. if its still under warranty, then take it to the dealer.. problem solved

I did not.

LED's for example draw very little power. The BCM module is what controls our flashers, not a separate flasher unit like in older vehicles. In the BCM programming for the regular turn signals, is a function programmed in that checks to see the resistance on the circuit. If the resistance is very low, the BCM will hyperflash the turn signals to indicate that a bulb is out. When you trigger the hazzard flashers, the hazzard flasher circuit bypases that bulb out check function in the programming, therefore making it flash at a 'normal' rate, regardless of the bulb status.

sorry about that then bro.. but regardless if the BCM had that feature or not, the turn signals should still hyperflash (my 97 Neon did it) or on some vehicles the turn signal just stays on and doesnt flash, because the circut is never completed.
