flat black

front emblem how would i go about doing this or at least black with not so much shine
i dont want the chrome piece showin either so painting that black too

sand down the whole bowtie and do light coats all around then clearcoat it

or do what i did take the thng off....go to home depot buy double stick tape( but the strongest).. paint both sides (i did)...the front bowtie u can unsrew the thng off.. just get under the front bumper and right behind the front grille and so on with the process

i sanded mine down and sprayed it with black spray paint with no clear coat

and it looks like stacy_dammit's

came out good

i didn't recall our bowties being rough

just sand it down to get the top layer of gold off. so its all scratched up
than paint over it
and it will look like all of the above.

There is a how to... Also no reason to sand, I have painted several bowties and never sanded it down...

Look at my current one in my sig, black and yellow. spray paint and tape... that is all I used... and clear coat... but leave the clear out since you want flat.

I just painted mine flat black. Only took a few minutes to mask off the chrome and paint. Too dark to get pics.. but you get the idea. Looks like dammit's bowtie, except on a silver Balt

I used a green scrubby pad like you'd use to wash dishes. The clear coating on the OEM badge came right off with ease.
