gauge cluster swap

Is it possible to put a 160mph ss cluster in a LT? I'd like to have the ability to know how fast I'm actually going.

ya it's possible. Actually I'm pretty sure it's a direct swap.

I think the 2.2L tops out at 65mph. Unless your boosted. So why go thru the trouble?

SLOW THE EFF DOWN.

Troof, there's no way you should ever need to go over 120 in the 2.2. It's just not necessary and would take forever with that engine.

years must corrospond for it to work. IE: if you're a 2006 LT the Gauge cluster must also come from another 2006.

Do I need to swap any sensors or is it simply a remove & replace procedure?

Eventually a stage 2 ZZP turbo kit will work its way under the hood, so a speedo capable of keeping up with it is on the list.
I've had a lifted jeep for the past few years. The ability to go over 65 without going downhill is a newfound joy.

Most LS/LT people buy the SS cluster for the looks. The stock 120mph looks ugly. The gray and red accent lines on the 160mphs gives a better appearance to the interior of the car. MOST SS cobalts do not travel fast enough (driving 120+ for more than 5 seconds) to create enough downforce from the high rise wing to have an effect. So why have it?

I dont think it can go over 110, i've tried

OP: The 160mph cluster needs to be the same year as your car. 07 SS will fit in a 07 LT. There is some speculation about 05-06 all compatible with 05-06 and all 07+ compatible with 07+. It may deal with digital signals and the change in models between the years (radio, DRL, steering wheel, etc). But to be safe, get the same year as your car.
