Gauges

I have a few questions about guages and pods. I know there are a ton of threads actually 98 pages and i didnt wanna go through them all again.... So I have an SS/SC and im wanting to get some autometer cobalt series gauges. However, can we put the gauge pods on the A pillar? I have heard both yes and no.... And if you were going to get gauges what would you get?(i.e oil pressure, trans temp, boost.......) Plus I currently have a stage 1 kit in the car and lookin to going to a 2 pretty soon. Open to any ideas....
Thanks for the help

Ya i saw those but the issue i was hearing about was the fact that we have side airbags? It would interfere?

no i have the one from CA and i have side air bags and it works good. the only issues is that the top two gauges hit the plastic cover for the air bag and are pushed out about 1/8 inch but no biggie and it's barely noticeable. here's a few pics...

I have ordered an autometer triple gauge pod from Partsource (cdn) and I have a Wideband autometer gauge to go in it and plan on getting the Aeroforce. one day I will change out the boost guage to a mechanical boost. IMO that is better and faster in reacting to boost feed but more importantly it will give me a read for PSI not kPa (stock for Canada). impressive to say i have 130 boost though (18.5 psi). so that is my plan. the aeroforce gives many parameters through the OBD port. that guage is the easiest to install.

I would go with an AEM wideband only because I hear it works better with HPtuners. but if when I get HPTuners this spring and try to get it to work with the autometer wideband I will do a write up and try and get a yellow post it on it for the advance tuning section. AEM I now works well. just questionable right now for the autometer. in theory it should be no problem but we will see.

electric gauges all the sensors are under the hood but with mechanical there is a line going into the car and screws into the back of the gauge. lets say you what to get the oil pressure with an electric gauge you have a sensor that screws into the block and a wire going to it that senses the current from the sensor and send the information to the gauge where a mechanical has an oil line going into the cab of your car and directly to the back of the gauge. if possable i would stay with electrical cause you don't want to run an oil line or something similar into your car and have it break. what a mess that would be!

not the CA pod won't affect anything

also when you wire them put the power wire directly to the red wire or pink wire or whatever color you want to call it that powers your boost guage. this will save you from running wires to the fuse panel and this way they turn on and off with you key. works great!

What do you do for AFR wideband though. you need a input for that and I have asked around and the only way to do it is have a afr wideband with the out put to send to the Aeroforce but if you have to get the guage then just put it in your pod?

you can also drill a hole in the down pipe right before the cat and weld a nut onto the pipe to screw the O2 sensor into it and then run the wires. i never heard of your way but i'm not doubting it works
