gen 3 headlights and hids...

for the gen 3's do i have to modify anything to put in H1 hids? Anything i should know beforehand?

No you shouldn't have to modify anything. The H1 bulbs should plug right in, connect all the wires and the relay harness and you're good to go.

you will want to do the anti-glare mod on those projectors, they do reflect some light above the cutoff line which is not acceptable once you put hids in them. here is a how to on that, https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/how-...ectors-114151/ I also used the "HID relay harness" from zzp which has a relay so you do not overload your stock wiring, since hids use more power. I have 3rd gen projectors with the h1 6000k hid and did not need to do any modification other than that. good luck with your install.

Edit: You will also need amber bulbs for your blinkers since the 3rd gens have a clear reflector
