so adjust the bracket until they fit in place? I see like a gap between the bumper and headlights. I'll try that once more. Gonna get my HID's tomorrow from DDM and try to line up the headlight brackets one more time. When I looked under my headlights, I saw the tab wasn't in place of the bracket. Kind of aggervated, but I'll give a shot one more time.

yeah. The aftermarket lights don't fit like OEM, so you do have to dick around with them to make them fit better.

I had to adjust the bucket a bit and make the slots on the bottom a little bigger too.

Tonight, I noticed the stress crack on my passenger side too. Someone pointed it out to me after we lined up the HIDS, and I was like "are you kidding me?" Its not that bad, but I guess it started from the halogens when I first got it. Put the HID's 35w in yesterday. Cleaned it, waxed it, so hopefully that will prevent it cracking from any further I hope tonight. Is there a place that sells lenses for the cobalt, incase I have to replace the entire lense? Can I get that link?

Damn. I'm putting hids in mine first. I'm not even going to try the halogens that come with the projectors.

I'm figuring it has something to do with the heat. All it looks like is tiny bit of scratches inside the passenger light, which is barely notice, until your really close up to the headlight. Need to post some pics. No big deal, if they both start doing the same thing, just gonna use my stock lenses to replace them. Can't display image from photo bucket, don't know what I'm doing wrong. here is the link instead. If you look at it close its barely notice. It here the low beams are. http://s870.photobucket.com/albums/a...a.jpg&newest=1 How do you post pics here, do you have to do some special format for it to display? I took the link and post it in the url to insert image and its not displaying correctly. Why?

so what are we saying here, if you use halogen bulbs then the heat will crack the lens cover, but if you use HID's then it wont? How so, why?

Also, if you have 4000k lights versus 8 or 12k, does it really matter at night when you're driving your vehicle? Basically, will a 4000/8000k HID light offer you any less brightness than stock halogen bulbs?

Thanks in advance for answers, I'm a newb in terms of projectors

HID runs cooler than halogen.

HID is brigher than halogen. 4300K HID produces whiter light and has more output in lumens than 8000K HID. The reason 8000K hid is popular is because it is more of a blue color light.

The cracks in my light are above the high beam. No where close to where the bulb lights up. Hmmmm?

To me its not the end of the world. Just incase both lenses started both stress cracking, I'm gonna use my OEM lenses to replace the DEPO lenses. Saw some fog build up inside the Gen4's after a nasty storm, because one of my rubber pieces popped loose in the back to create moisture inside the headlights, so I took a hair blower to kill all that stuff off outside. Got all of it, but don't know if that will prevent them from the future run, not to fog up again.

It's gotta be the lens that depo puts on the lights. I work for VW and saw a passat with a depo headlight and the lens was cracked like hell.

well that's why I'm going to use the OEM stock lenses, because I know for sure they won't crack.

i had my gen 4's on for pretty much a week and i too have these stupid hairline cracks on BOTH lenses. im honestly not even going to worry about it until it gets bad enough to warrant me to take these apart and put OEM lenses on them. i still love these projectors though.

heat rises.

BTW, i got my second set in and installed with HID's right away and so far no cracks. So im voting heat from the stock halogen bulbs is whats doing it

55 watt is more heat and these lenses seem to be sensitive

Same problem with my gen 3s. Passenger side is the only one with cracks, but both lenses are flacking.

its a common problem dude, most people dont worry about it, its only noticeable when the sun hits it at certain angles. And if you plan to run HID's in them right away, theres a good chance you wont see this issue anyways

I bet one of those wet sanding headlight repair kits might work on them if you get the stress cracks.
