OEM is better quality. i've seen ebay headlights, i had a cobalt... theres no argument here. these ebay headlights are mass produced with low quality plastic, wiring, adhesives etc...
you CANNOT compare OEM quality with ebay crap. even with the quality issues GM has had with the cobalts, i doubt they would mess around and assemble crap quality headlights. think about what your saying.
go ahead and try to reason with spending your money on this stuff when you could save the money, buy an extra set of headlights and modify those if worrying about going back to stock is your concern for buying these polished turds.

OEM is quality? Seriously? So your one of those people? Have you even looked at any of the GM lights on some of the preowned cars? Hell Ive seen new malibu's with water in the OEM QUALITY HEADLIGHTS! Your right I havent seen any of the ebay crap with the wicked awesome liquid cooling that some of the GM OEM QUALITY lights seem to offer. Your one of those people who think the best pads and rotors for a car are factory parts as well arent you? And ok lets look at this a good retrofit will run you what 300-400? A set of the 4th gens shipped is about 200. Ok.... so theres no bulbs to really go out on the 4th gens... I really am trying to bring the 4th gen price up above the retro's... But its just not happening. Oh and look one some of the used lots you well see some nicely fogged over Cobalt headlights. Other brands manage to avoid this for at least a few more years. Yes granted it will eventually happen to all plastics over the years as they get weathered. Gm will cut a lot of corners to make a buck. The headlights is one of the easy corners to cut they have before and still are cutting that corner....

doubt it with the outer plastic. i never had a problem with the exterior of my cobalt or anyone i knew, the interior is another crappy story.

Well since my FX 45 retrofit has gone WAY wrong, these are appealing. It looks like they have factory looking tabs, so my extra OEM lens' would work nice with em... They offer in chrome, but its not that much cheaper than black..... hmmmmm

If the quality of OEM surpasses gen 4s, why is 90% of this thread buying "cheap quality" "cheap price" "crap company" DEPO headlights instead of the "near-perfect" OEM headlights?

Yes I envy you for that, but dont bash on us because I cant afford retrofits or a nicer car with OEM HID ( which I wish). I'm not cheap and lazy for this fact. I mean damn not all of us are rich a**es and can afford an EVO with stock AWESOMEEE OEMMMM Headlights and stock HID's. They may not last forever, but they look much better than the stock headlights and are legal. I feel better knowing that I wont blind some oncoming driver!

if these depo lights were "gold" then the rest of the spo-com scene would be buying these "better than oem quality" knock off lights.
instead if you look at the rest of the scene outside of the cobalt community you would see how big of a joke these DEPO lights are, and how they are known for their crap quality.

lols...this thread went downhill in a hurry.
He's just butthurt because he spent 700 on lights...they're just lights...and in all honesty...much like him I don't plan on keeping the Cobalt for an extremely long time...and I'm pretty damn confident that Depo's "subpar" quality and durability will be able to last a few years...which is all I will need out of them.
Funny thing is...Even if I did keep the car for a long enough period that the Depo brand lights did start to show some signs of wear and tear...I could buy another set and still have spent less than I would have spent on a retro setup...and faaar less than he did on his 700 dollar JDM setup.
He's just struggling to justify his overpriced headlights and is butthurt that the Depo lights (especially the 4th gens)...look just as good, if not better, than any retro setup out there and cost...well...a hell of a lot less...and perform just as well at what they're designed to do...light up the road.
Call it cheap..call it lazy..call it what you will...I call it intelligent.
