Well of course, but it costs more. You get what you pay for haha!

I really wish I had the cash to get some true retrofits

But a stock non modified housing with an HID setup is nowhere near as effective as as an ebay projector housing setup.

Why bash? Its pointless. Its a good middle road. And its not like OEM is that great anyway

GMAC is working on it LMAO

who is bashing? it's pretty hard to interpret the way something is being said when typed... quit assuming.

i cant say because the headlights arent a name brand they are trash cuz look at megan racing products... known for sketchy quality and all are copied with no R&D work... problem is, is your buying these headlights which are not high quality and are known for problems. plus they are halos... since when did BMW start producing cobalt headlights? <-- bashing.

so OEM > ebay. why waste your money when you can have a better headlight and just modify it? you would spend just about the same retrofitting as you would buying these crap headlights.

well bashing granted mild is when you called an ebay projector crap when referring to stock oem as better. Id say its pretty close. Also the 4th gens dont have the halo's. So thats not an issue. Also youd spend a good chunk more money on full retrofits and theres more time involved in making them work. Plus its easier for those of us who didnt retrofit our stockers to go back to stock. So like I said these are a good middle road for a lot of people.

OEM is better quality. i've seen ebay headlights, i had a cobalt... theres no argument here. these ebay headlights are mass produced with low quality plastic, wiring, adhesives etc...

you CANNOT compare OEM quality with ebay crap. even with the quality issues GM has had with the cobalts, i doubt they would mess around and assemble crap quality headlights. think about what your saying.

go ahead and try to reason with spending your money on this stuff when you could save the money, buy an extra set of headlights and modify those if worrying about going back to stock is your concern for buying these polished turds.

what a joke.

Ummm...The Gen 4s do have a name brand (Depo)...even if it isn't a huge one.

They don't come with halos or LEDs or any of that silly flim flam.

And if you look at the other Gen 4 thread titled "Look what I got today"...you will see his pics with HIDs and the cutoff (page 3 I believe) is absolutely perfect (even better than some retro setups I've seen) and lacks and form of hot spot.

Very few people on here want to spend the ridiculous amount of time and money to get a retrofit setup done and these gen 4s are a VERY good alternative (compared to the previous gens).

You sound bitter there man. Bad experience or something?

I wouldn't bother trying to get people to spend money on a retrofit. Doing it yourself takes a lot of time and money, and getting someone else to make a set for you still takes a lot of time and money, so many people go this route. I am also amused how you call every aftermarket headlight "eBay crap" when eBay is but one of MANY ways one can purchase these lights. Sure they may not be the "best" quality out there, but it's better quality than what you would end up with if you tried to do a retrofit and are inexperienced with the process involved. I have the third gen lights on my car at the moment, and am waiting for new HID bulbs to arrive so I can install my fourth gens. Would I get a retrofit? Sure if I had the money and could make them look right. I don't, so why try to half ass a set of retros? These work fine. Just let people buy what they please and leave it at that.

DEPO is crap. ask anyone who has bought their knock-off lights.

so what your saying is that your craftmanship is halfass at best? am i getting this right?

in this case, these DEPO headlights that you think are cheap end up costing you more money in the long run, whether it's you having to re-seal the headlight housing or replace various bulbs in the headlights.

companies like DEPO and Megan racing thrive on ebay because of all the people who are to cheap to by the real thing or simply too lazy to do any quality work themselves.

Well howsa bout you make me some retros for a halfway decent price then? Oh you mean you can't keep the cost down?

I don't have the time to make my own retros...and odds are..I'd probably mess them up if I tried.

Seriously dude these Gen4s have a very nice cutoff and are much better than the previous Gens in every way as some have mentioned (grommets, plastics used, etc)...did you even look at the thread I directed you to?

considering this gen has no other bulbs in the headlight housing, i doubt itll cost more in the long run. and even if they did need re sealing whats that cost? 1.99 at the local store? and the cutoff is great. im sold.

Your still trying to convince me that a polished turd isn't still just a turd in disguise? I already made my argument pretty clear. Like I said it's cheap and lazy people who keep these crap companies in business.

Plus hockeyman said that there is little if any modification for HID's.

Who cares about the build quality of these housings?

I just like GEN 4's because they are cheap with a projector.

I'm sold too.

Hence the rebuild once a year.
