I could get it powdercoated but i would like to customize it in a way powdercoating cant do
Valve cover i cant help you there but if your changing the color yea you got to powdercoat it. When i get back from my deployment i am going to change some things up. New RKSport carbon fiber hood and 3 piece wing which i am going to try to find someone to wrap it in carbon fiber. So that means i will need a new carbon fiber trunk as well. Then a clean stereo install after that crazy motor work.

I tink that would look sweet. like mostly black with orange swirls kinda in it. but its just this whole high temperature thing that sucks.
I've seen standard paint used on valve covers for years, hell mine is done with Krylon crap that's not high temp or anything. Same with my blower, it was done with an industrial enamel.

I say do it.

my first valve cover, powdercoated, the next one krylon'd. both held up about the same to the heat. krylon'd one was easier to scratch.

Damn you have done some progress since I've last seen it. Engine bay looks ****. Did you remove that heat liner on the firewall? Also how hard was it to spray everything with the motor still in?

made even more today. but thanks no i didnt remove the heatliner just sprayed it black. Figured all that goey **** would be a pain in the ass, and I dont plan on ever removing it so stay on is what it did. And the bay was pretty easy with a Sata Minijet! ! Just had to hang some lights over it while spraying to make sure i got everywhere, and pretty much pinpointed the gun to spray the thing

lmao thats true, but i didnt want a dinasour on my car and a dartboard in my trunk

UPDATE:

Im gonna do the same thign to the headlights as my rims and like my old eyelids. Black with an orange pin stripe on the edge of it. I layed the silver base, and candy base, waited like 15 minutes and put pinstripe tape down over the orange, and i was worried it was gonna lift, so i checked it and lifted an edge and what to you know, it lifted. So I sprayed it again and cleared it, and tommorow ill wetsand the edge where the layers are different and then lay the black down and be done with it.

And sprayed the front gill the metallic black: (i cleared it just didnt get a pic of it)

I cant find the damn front bowtie piece to spray, but when i find it ill spray that, and I gota do the front intercooler grill piece, and the rear grills, and thats about it besides the whole car

They actually have ALOT of silver pearl in them. In the sun they look charcoal. Its just my cell phone that makes them look all black. Ill bring my good camera tommorow and snag some pics. I added a little TOO much silver pearl, but then after i sprayed it, i was like GOD DAMNNN i like it.
