Gestapo007's Paint Job Thread: Project Pumpkin
its better to pull them back or off(which you cant take them off with candies) anyways. then you dont have to worry about the clear sealing that gap and cracking later.
It's possible to take the rear lip off without taking the bumper off, but it's a pain in the ******* ass. I did this when I had my lip modified for my exhaust. I basically got under the car, removed any push-pin clips holding the lip to the bumper, and the bumper to the car, and kinda reached up behind the styrofoam to get to the clips holding the lip on. It's really tight, but if the bumper is mostly unclipped it allows it to flex enough to be able to reach the clips. It's far easier to just take the whole bumper off, I just hate having to deal with the two screws in the wheel wells that are in the worst possible position to get to.
kev i like the valve cover, but now i think you need to make the fuse box cover look like the valve cover cause the fuse box stands out now just my opinion, love you work when you painting my car lol haha jk

^x2 imo get that fuse cover matched with the valve cover and do something to the intake manifold( black it out/match with fuse and valve covers) and your engine bay will be complete sex.
Tell ya what tho you can see all your hard work paying off. Keep it up man i cant wait to see this beast once finished.

Intake mani will probobly get powdercoated. How much of a pain is that to get off. looks like a son of a bitch with the throttle body on the bottom and all

Short day like every friday, just took bumpers off and sanded them down a bit and under the lips, really wanted to spray underside of hood and trunk but half booth and booth were taken. Ill have to get that done monday, and tuesday ill spray the top of the hood and trunk, wednesday the whole car will go in

You talking about the intake mani? If so It's not that its THAT difficult, from what i saw, and didnt look too much into it, its pretty standard up top on the engine bay, just take bolts out, remove all the **** thats clipped on to it, but the bottom bolts and the throttle body up underneath the car seems like a pain. Have to remove alot of that plastic **** under the car with the little tiny usually rusted screws and ****. SHouldnt be difficult though man im sure you can do it in an hour

I did, and i even payed for a month of photobucket pro, i dont know why its being like that lol. and valve cover is easy. only problem like I said is the steel braided line going to the turbo. Valve cover, just first remove your coil packs, then remove all of the metal clips connected to it that are holding hoses in place, on the back right side of the valve cover. Then loosen all the bolts that hold the valve cover down on the outside edge of it. I imagine your intake is off already and your crank case vent is disconnected. Then lift your valve cover (if you never took it off before it may take a flathead screwdriver to help pry it up a bit) once its lifted, take a 3/4" drive, some extensions, a swivel joint, and a 10mm socket and loosen the bolt on the turbo thats holding the steel braided line on. Its hard to get to, so you might want to have a magnet ready incase it falls, like in my case, and you will never find it again
ONce its off, Then it takes alot of swiveling, pulling and prying to pop that steel braided line out. Its held in with an O ring and its in there pretty good. Then once you get that out, valve cover is free to do whatever you want with. Id get some degreaser and a scotch bright bad, and scrub it down with that, so the scotch bright pad will put some scuffs into it so the paint will adhere better to it. Then I hit mine with some rattle can etch prime, since i wanted to paint it the same day, and then let that cure for 30 minutes and then applied my topcoats
