Nah I dont got a sand/media blaster. I need to get one though, im tired of hand sanding wheels. I hit them with the air sander and hand sanded, etch primed, and primed. They were painted already so i didnt worry about taking all of the material off, took like 60% of it off and just made sure it was all scuffed up good and primed over that.
alot of guys take the class just to paint there car and then bounce, and usually they leave by the end of the semester with a primered still dented piece of **** car becasue they dont wanna put the time in to do it and do it right. I mean people always wanna do crazy ****, like fiberglass a spoiler on there car out of styrofoam
One guy brought in some POS and wanted to chop the top and lower the roof on his car, and we said that if he can do it and get it to line up on one of the doner cars then he can do it on his car. Needless to say he fucked the doner car up and never finished it and never came back

wow thanks alot
cant wait till its done
I would too! and if i wasnt moving I definitly would. I like going to school for cars. Its not school when your working on cars 6 hours a day. I took 2 years of regular classes b4 i transfered into this program, and its night and day how i look forward to going to school now. And where I go is really cool, everyone is free to work on there own ****. Most kids in the mechanic's class build the **** out of there cars, most of them are broke so you never see anything super nice, but theres the occasional nice car. Buddys low 11 second foxbody mustang needed a new tranny so he pulled it in there and put a new tranny in one day. Just **** like that I wish I could do. I need a clutch, but I have no idea how to install it. If i trusted any of the kids in there I would let them install it for me.

No the primer actually protects it. Filler absorbs moisture and if you have filler over bare metal it has to be primed or else it will soak up all the moisture and start corroding the metal. Primer is fine. Doesnt have UV protection but you dont need it since its primer, and its gotta be sanded and its gonna be painted over
damn sounds like a lot of fun. makes my 4 year college degree feel worthless at this point. I wish I could have done engine building myself, instead of computers. I like to rip my LNF engine out, put a turbo kit, tune it. I gurantee no one in Wilmington at import night would touch me.

Update!
I hit a racoon a few months after owning this car, and they had to repaint my bumper and replace the front lip, and apparently they painted a nice piece of hair in my fog light. Damn $1,300 dealer paint job!

Well i sanded it out and feather-edged all the rock chips in my bumper, i feathered them out more after this pic i just wanted to make sure i snapped one! I forget lately

Now i feel like a ricer driving around. I filled in those little divits where the license plate goes with some finishing putty. So it will be smooth as a babys ass.

DA with 180 on the chips, then 400 the rest of it, then took a scotch bright to all the edges and bottom lip and all, and shot with primer
yea i posted a photoshop a few pages back, its not the exact color but its gonna be a candy orange and metallic black. gonna put silver flake or pearl in it. Calling to order the paint right now, then ill do a spray out to see exactly how the color will look

coming along nicely man. Love it!
I've been thinking about your wing though. Wonder if there would be a way to make it adjustable. I'm considering it for myself since my car will be making the trip to Germany where we have the lovely Autobahn.

Im sure you could make one like that, but it would probobly have to be sheet metal, and need some sort of hinges or something. hmm...
