gm ground effects question
gm ground effects question
so i have the gmpp exhaust with the straight tip and i read everywhere it says not compatable with catback exhaust. is this true?
also i cut my mudflaps off a while ago and i did it wrong and didnt do it along the body line and i have a gap. would the sideskirts cover up that gap? or would i need new fender liners? and if i need new fender liners will ss ones work fine because theres a member selling a oem set on here and if i could use those id buy them. or would it be better to get the same ones that came with my car with the mudflaps than cut them properly to install the sideskirt?

I just sold my ground effects kit this past weekend and we installed them on the guy's car so I can help you out here...
You won't need an SS fender wall lining unless you were going to put SS ground effects on a lesser trim (LS, LT, etc). The side skirts will cover the gap, unless it's to big i guess, so just stick with the ones you already have. As far as the exhaust tip goes, I think that is B.S. because this guy had like a 4" tip lol and although it rubbed after we put the kit on I know the GM one isn't that big (I actually own it but it's not installed yet) so you'll be fine.
Pro-Tip: just make sure when you install the kit you make it permanent just in case...3M adhesive is great but I just don't trust it enough. I know we had a hard time without using the mounting hardware (I never got it when I bought the kit originally) but he told me he made it home fine without losing anything.
Good Luck!

thanks for the response.
i will pm you a pic of my fender liner because the gap is pretty big. i installed ss fender liners because a member on here told me it would get rid of the gap but it didnt it only cut the gap in half so i boxed em up and returned them.
and if i got the kit i would get it installed at a body shop. or see how much gm would charge because they only charged 90 to do my catback
