just so you know, everyone is about to yell OMG NOOB SEARCH,

but lets see answers to your questions

depends on your preference/if you like looks over functionality
probably
no, but i always suggest getting diff bulbs than the ones they send with them. they usually suck/melt things. make sure you get stock watt (55/60 w/e) unless you like melted plastic.
as of right now, theres only really one style, its on ebay.
yes.
no, i believe they use diff size bulbs, h1's? something small.

So, in terms of light projection, are they MUCH better than the stocks?
I'm focused on getting either this, or the Injen CAI

Halo's refer to the ring of lighting around the projectors. Projectors are the convex lensed areas. So really when your saying the halo headlights, you are referring to the projector headlights.

Just so you know, I have them on my black SS and they are the hotness, get a lot of looks from people, most people have never seen anything like them. LoL

yeah, like he said, the halos are the blue rings around the lenses, the projectors are the weird magnifying glass looking lens in there, because it projects the light, just like projectors in school. has the little bulb behind the picture, and the lens makes the picture huge

My question is how do you go from a single headlight to a split headlight? From the pics of a stock headlight, I only see one bulb behind the shield. But the projector-style housings on ebay are all separate bulbs for highs and lows.

our car has one plug for the bulb, and so the projector has 1 plug , but its wired to the 2 bulbs

So it splits after the plug to the separate bulbs on the aftermarket headlight?

Yes

Our stock bulb has three pins

One Ground pin
One HI beam pin
One LO beam pin

the projectors split the ground in two and use the HI beam for the high beams and the Lo for the lows

It comes with its own harness

From what I am hearing you do have to modify the housing. In all honesty, if your asking this many questions about the "halo lights" then you should probobly just get them first then after some time with em, look into the HIDs

I need a cobalt to put them on first. I'll have one in a 2 weeks. I've already sold my cavy, in less than 12 hours too lol. I have projectors and HIDs in my cavy now, and have had no probs with them.

well whether or not you get hid's , i HIGHLY suggest buying different bulbs as soon as you get them. either phillips bluevision(not really blue, but are good) or silverstars. will increase your vision a lot better and like i said the bulbs that usually come with ebay projectors suck ***** and can either melt your housings/fall apart, or like mine, do both. they were for my focus though, but most ebay projectors are built the same.
