I am looking to buy the halo projector headlights for my 06 SS/SC. Can anybody give me some advice on which ones are the better ones to buy or are least likely to have problems?

 

Well..im already on my second set for the 2nd gen, Ive had nothing but problems, and about 1000 other members on here have had problems as well. They barely fit, the passenger led bar went out..twice..as well as the halo rings on the first set. Luckily the seller exchanged them for me.

I dont know much about the 1st gen, just that I guess they arent that bright. I think you have to wire them yourself as well.

I havent heard many bad things about the 3rd gen. People seem to like them.

 

1st and 3rd both have to be wired yourself. 2nd is the only one that is plug and play. It doesn't matter what generation you get, it just depends on if you're lucky enough to get a decent quality product. They mostly come from China. If you like bright, get the 2nd gen. because they have CCFL technology. That's what I have now, and love them! As far as quality is concerned...it's all just a crap shoot.

 

All you are going to get is opinions, opinions, opinions on this question. All after market projectors are not really that reliable. Because almost all basically come from the same place, China.

No matter what gen you get, you're going to have problems regardless. Or who knows, you might get lucky.
