Halo projectors falling apart

I've had my black halo projectors for almost two years now. I recently noticed that there is like a clear film on both headlights that is starting to flake off. Has anyone else noticed this?

My halos have been a nightmare for me. Upon recieving them, one of the LED's for a halo did not work, After a month of trying to get ahold of the guy i bought them from, he sends me a set of the TRI LED's. which one of those were bad. I had asked him for an LED for the HALO and one for the TRI SET. Well i fixed the tri set and gave up on the halo. Few months down the road i have a bump and break the passenger Housing, Luckily i only broke the part that bolts on, nothing that gorrila glue and water proof tape didnt fix. Few more months i see that my halo is acutally melting a hole in the front of the housing. Damn things have been pissing me off. Question though, my housing says not for high output lights. I thought those lights burned cooler and were brighter?

Haven't noticed that problem... But I've had to replace the entire set of LED's, and re-caulk the housings.

Seriously I feel the same way. I started a thread about reliability of them and everyone just said no they are good just get them. Now I am thinking of just doing vinyl eyelids and replace the bulbs in mine so they are brighter, then take the money I would have spent and spend it on an intake....

This is a depressing thread. They look so nice, but everyone is saying they aren't what they are cracked up to be.

Gotta be a little careful with different bulbs because when you change the wattage on the bulb, you change the load on the harness and can risk melting it. I thought about that before too. I think my halos are running a 55 watt bulb. Somewhere around there.

Yeah I meant the stock lights. Definitely not getting the halo's after reading all this stuff. Could put that $250.00 in other places and have it last.
