Halo Wiring....

I'm still lost on this whole halo wiring. I kind of get it but then I don't. I bought 1st gen halo's off ebay, do you wire them up to the stock harness that would plug into the headlight assembly, or do you wire the halos to the headlight harness?

All depends on what you wanna do. My Halo's are wired to a toggle switch so i can turn them on and off when i want. Cant remember what i did the first time but you probably could wire them to your headlight assembly. I'll take some pics of mine to show you if you want. i'll try and get them up on the weekend.

Ok
Coming off your new projectors should be a couple red (or white) wires. These are the power wires. The black one that come off the new projectors are the grounds.
Take all the power wires and twist them together
Now do the same for the grounds
To take your headlight out you'll need 1 10mm socket and something to remove the tabs that hold the bumper to the car, I have a liitle interior panels remover but a small flat head should be able to pull it up far enough to fit a pair of needle nose in there. You only have to remove the tabs that are directly around the headlights and the silver bolts that are attached to the headlight, you do not have to remove the black bolts from the housing the surrounds the headlight.

Once you have pulled the headlight out there is a harness that is clipped onto the headlight housing over by the turn marker.
On the harness there are a couple brown and a couple black wires
Ohhh, almost forgot if you haven't done this yet, go disconnect the neg lead from your battery.
On the harness (I used the section that was running to lights not the section that was running to the car, its easier to work on if you can take it to a table) take one of the brown wires and cut it, somewhere in the middle, don't really matter which one just as long as its brown.
Now strip it down about an inch on either side, then take your power wires from the projectors and twist them all together.
I would sodler them if I were you, but you don't have to, just make sure there secure, now add some heat shink or electrical tape.
Do the same with one of the black wires from the harness and the ground wires from the projectors
Plug in the rest of the headlights, (the rest should be plug and play). Put your new projector in and your repeat the whole ordeal for the other side

one other question, quick connects would work wouldn't they? I'll need to disconnect everything when I get HID's

The HID kits are plug and play with the exception of the power and ground that run the balasts. Those I hooked to the jump post on the fuse box and the ground went to a bolt on the top of the strut (the one that was marked ground) other than that there is no moving around of wires that will be needed, the HID kits totally integrate with the stock system, it took me all of 15 minutes to install mine, 10 of which I spent looking for a place to mount the balast.

One thing you should know, when you order the cobalt kit it is going to come with 9007 bulbs, the same as the stock ones, there ment to install in the stock housings. Your new projectors are not 9007's there H1's, or H3's, it should say right on the outside of the projector down around the bottom.

When you order the HID's most places give you the chance to choose what bulb you want, make sure you make it clear that you want whatever bulb will fit in your projectors or else they won't fit in the housing.
So to answer your question, you can do quick connects if you would like but it is unnessesary, the HID bulbs are wired directly to the balast, the only part of the car that plugs into the HID kit is the blue connector that currently plugs into the headlight itself, any of your projector wiring will remain the same. If you tap those wires between the plug and the headlight , not the plug and the car you can remove the headlights without having to cut wires they should all stay connected to the projector housing
Hope that helps, Good luck
