headlights black or no?

I was thinking about blacking my headlights out like not totally, jus the inside chrome parts black. Iam just afraid because i dont want to meess with my new stock headlights. What should i do, and does this look better (i have a black 07 ss/sc), also what about eyelids i think i like them and heard u can make them out of vinyl (some pics would help thanks), is that the same stuff decals are made from?? becuase my friend can make decals...thanks.

Painting the chrome black would look pretty cool; lots of guys on here have done so. You couldn't go wrong by buying a pair of headlights and taking your time with them to get them right and then swapping out the stockers. Good luck with the project!

its a pretty easy job... just follow the how-to, and take your time and you will be fine... as far as the eyelids, if you want to do them in vinyl it is the same stuff that decals are made out of.

I think the blackouts look great personally. But does it change the light clarity at all? I would imagine the better bet would be to chrome it out, so that it reflects out better, but for aesthetics alone, they look awesome.

i put mine in the oven and so have a lot of other members on here... put them in for 200* for 25 mins and the stick a blow dryer in the hole in the back while you tear them apart. trust me it is fine i have taken mine apart a couple of times and it is much easier than just a heat gun.

They look so much better color matched in my opinion. I heard you can buy black ones already painted on ebay somewhere.

You should put the eye lids on after you paint them. Because you have to heat them up to take them apart. Basicly bake them.

i painted my lights black, lights are just as bright as ever. make sure that you dont paint the part that reflects the light though.
