so I saw the how to on painting your dash trim blah blah blah , anyways I did that but now I want to paint the center console thing like around the cupholders/shifter/exbrake. I can totally get it off and **** fine Its just that this guy at the dealership I work at (he is our dent/ touch up paint guy) and hes and old man so I kinda take what he says seriously because I think old people are(or at least can be) pretty wise sometimes. anyways he told me good luck on getting the paint to stick I said I plan to use 800 grit on the textured part to smooth it out then spray sand and fill and then use primer/paint/clearcoat. he says I will find out on my own why this is a bad idea he keeps saying you cant do it but I have seen it done on here one effin time and now I cant find the thread it was on so that I can ask the person... anyone know what hes talking about or at least can anyone who has done this tell me how they did it?
