My car has only 750 miles and the used one was in need of some work. All in all it cost me $250. Not bad since I did not have to claim it on my insurance. Still bummed everytime I look at that replacement rim tho.
take it back to the dealership and say WTF is up with this rim? all the other ones are still all nice and this one is effed up all ready! and ask them for another rim.

Crap like that is why dealers don't really jump up to honor warranties in the first place. He made the right choice taking care of it himself.

^^^^ AMEN !!
I did not blame GM for hitting curb. This thread got me all the help I needed. I also am about to replace my shift knob. I was wearing a ring and muffed it up. I intend to use my warranty if or when it seems something breaks due to defect or anything like that. I do wish the knob was not so fragile. I do wish my boro does something about that curb.
I am 41 and do not beat my car at all. Had it 2 months now and have it racked up to 750 miles.

edit: I did call the GM dealer when I did this. He reccomended a alloy repair dude or a discounted new rim........ still at $568 !!!! I got saavy and went eBay thanks to a tip from a dude in this thread. THANKS!!!
