while 5000K is bright, you're losing some light efficiency because of how your eye/brain perceives light. 4000K-4300K has the most light output. As you go up the color temperature range, there's less usable light for the human eye. The answer: 4000K-4300K, just like the OEM's use.

The bulbs that come stock in the Cobalt are HORRIBLE in their light output. Plus, when you put a color coating on a halogen bulb, you lose some light output. You want 4000K-4300K for the maximum usable light.
The industry doesn't use color temperature for testing their lights, just FYI. As long as the light output falls into the WHITE section of the SAE J578 chart, it's a legal color.
I bought a set from VVME via eBay, no problems. They're really popular with the Audi crowd. I don't know about their web site though, but they're all made in China. The ballast is just a knock-off of the Philips 35W, but there's no separate igniter. It's all integrated into the ballast assembly.
their well worth it.. u get what u pay for.. will ebay help u out if one messes up sometime... i think not. if u have any questions on how to install or anything can u just call ebay and ask them... i think not.

Exactly! Just vvme is the warehouse/seller or whatever, and cuts out the middle man, getting you a realistic price on HIDs. And i did have a small problem with mine, they sent the wrong bulbs the first time, and so they got the right bulbs to me within a week!
Hey guys, I have a 07 ss and am looking to get 6K gog lights and a set of 6K HID's I have searched ebay and 3bspec but am not sure on which ones I need. Can someone post up a direct link for me for both please
Are you not sure on what bulbs to use? Or specific HID questions? The bulbs for the fogs are H11's I believe, and the bulb for the headlights is going to depend on which you are running. Stockers are 9700, 1st Gen projectors are H1, and the other two are either H1 or H4 (?) I'm not too sure on those (someone can chime in on these). These are the type of HID bulbs you are going to need for the kit. As far as the ballast, you can go either with the normal one or the slim, these are self explanatory. You can go for either 35w or 55w for the ballast (part of the kit) but the color temp will drop by about 1K if you go for the 55w (for example you get 6K with the 55w ballast the light will appear to be 5K)
How is everyone extending the ballast wiring so they can install the ballasts in a better location? Are they cutting and splicing, or are they buying certain ballasts/kits and finding a suitable location near the lamps?
Fog lights are H11, Stock is 9007, 1st and 3rd Gen are H1 (lows), second Gen is H7 (lows).
I installed my fog ballasts under the headlights, and then the one side low ballast is in the engine bay on the fender "by" the torque dampner, and the other side is zip tied into the inside of the fender behind the driver headlight.

put in a 8000k HID kit i have done plenty of HID kits on my friends cars and my own but when i went to put this kit on my fog lights they keep blowing the fuse in the fuse box for my fog lights. i had a 10 amp fuse in there and then i tried a 15 amp then a 20 then a 25 amp what should i do?
I checked the wiring and all wiring looks good and no shorts.
How can i get them to work or whats the problem? because they worked fine on my cobalt ls but now that i try to install them on my ss they arnt working right and blowing the fuses
