HIDs installed in Projectors (56k ease it in like a gentleman)
Again, I'm no expert.. But i was under the impression that there were two different design "specs" for the projector lense itself. Now, "spec" might not be the correct word here, nor do I have any way to confirm it. I haven't spent much time researching lights, so I really only know a little bit about it.
I could also be confusing the difference between a lense that has been tested/built around the use of HID, and one that was designed for halogen as being two different lenses. When in reality they may be exactly the same, aside from fitment.

So are there any HID headlights that come with the housing and bulbs installed like the Halo Projectors? I like to keep it simple
What do you guys think i should do? Il spend up to $500. How much is just the HID housing and ballistas?

im pretty sure you cant get a set of HID conversion kit for no more that 250. and the projector lights on ebay are a little less. so either way you be spending less than 500, or 500 max. the projectors on ebay are the only aftermarket headlights for our cars... so far... your only other option is to make your own headlights and fabricate a projector in them, which completely goes against your idea of "keeping it simple". so you can have what this guy has im guessing for about 500 or less, someone correct me if im wrong.

Projectors are available for about 200, and as many others have said, you and get a decent HID retrofit kit for around 250.
I've always wondered this... hoping that there was some way to resolve that issue, as that would be a big problem for me. Just seeing that ridge in the cutoff in those pictures makes me not want to do this mod. But I'm extremely picky in that reguard.
By uneven, I assume you're referring to how there is that kinda ridge in the cutoff making the right look higher then the left? I was never sure if this was what was causing it. I noticed it on a friend of mines set of these housings, and he's still on halogen bulbs in them. Are you certain this is because of the HID, and not attributed to poor craftsmanship on the manufacturers side?

By uneven I mean on the ground immediately in front of the car, you can see some darker areas. I think that it might have something to do with the length of the bulb and the return lead. Think of it more as an uneven dispersement of light rather than an "uneven pattern".
I have heard they are alright, but the bulbs need to be replaced as they aren't that great of quality. Anyone have pictures of their projectors modified to fit the HID's in? I mean, the backs where the slot was drilled?
You're really over-estimating the effort that goes into modifying the projectors to fit the HIDs in them. It can be done with a drill and 3 minutes of your time. And... if you decide to ditch the HIDs for any reason, the normal halogen H1 bulbs still fit perfectly.
All you have to do is drill a small slot at the top edge of the rectangular opening for the bulb in the projector.
The slot is needed to fit the return lead that runs parallel to the bulb.
Here is a regular halogen H1 bulb:

Now here is an HID H1 bulb:

Notice the return lead on the HID bulb??? Here is a rough diagram I drew to illustrate where in the projector base you have to drill to fit the return lead.

Does that help guys?

I thought we were supposed to have it facing down, you may want to clarify that.
I have these projectors in my garage and was waiting to install my hid's on them but they wouldnt fit. I figured id have to drill, but your illustration shows that you have the extra tipe facing up?

This wasn't necessarily a step-by-step guide for installing HIDs in the projectors. It was more of a generic piece of advice/help just to give an idea of the extent of the modifications needed to fit the new bulbs.
so not to get off topic but the projectors require h1s correct....now if i get the full h1 kit connecters and everything is it going to work or i do need h1 bulbs and 9007 connecters im so utterly confused!!!
If you buy the eBay package with projectors AND HIDs, then you don't need to buy anything else.
If you're buying everything separately, you need to buy 2 things:
1) Projectors (which have harnesses to convert your 9007 plugs into H1 plugs)
2) H1 HID Conversion Kit (which connects to the H1 plugs and then has all of the necessary wires/ballasts/bulbs for the HID setup)
Do NOT get a 9007 HID conversion kit for the projectors. A 9007 style HID bulb will NOT fit in the projectors. You need an H1 HID conversion kit: that style bulb will fit with the modification discussed earlier in the thread.

Just installed my VISONBULB HID kit yesterday., 6000K. They look awesome, and are super easy to install.
I made the extra cut out as shown above and no "BLACK VOID" in the beam.
The kit I got came wtih both plug and play wires as well as a more hard wire approach. The only thing the instructions were missing was the step to connect the trigger so that the HIDs actually know to come on.
On a scale of 1 - 10 for difficulty I would say these are a 2. Basic wiring skills, a little drilling to mount the ballast bracket, and the ability to use a 10mm socket.

The E55 is a 3" projector . The ebay headlight projector looks smaller gauging off my buddies car . You would definately have to re-fab the halo ring and do a lil massaging . Not to big a deal , imo .
you could try the projectors fog lights for sale on ebay also.. i have 1 pair.. Awesome quality
their 2 kind.. H3 ones.. which is normal or H7 size which should shoot out a way much more light
want a link..?
