HID's are they worth it?
and if i can put them in gen 3's what makes them more expensive than just the H1 bulbs?
Ive had my HIDs in my car for over a year and there still working and they came out of my mustang which i had them in that car for over a year. and i have the stock headlights. they look and work awesome!!
The reason they are more expensive is due to their connections to the HID ballast. there are 2 "special" wires that run from the back of the d2s connection that hook up to the ballasts.
if you don't know what you're doing expect to put 50 hours into them.

Not going to argue on the aftermarket projectors - you can get better light out of them and they do serve a purpose in that regard - but I agree that they look cheap (because they are
Are they rice? Maybe. Do I like them myself? Not really. Would I mod a set to eliminate the halos / leds? Screw that, for the work involved, I will do bixenon retros
I equate hid's in stock housings to rice because they don't do anything other than blind oncoming traffic unless you aim them so low they are useless as headlights. At this point they are decoration only, "Look at me, I got HID's just like the expensive cars!!!!" Big whoop

how much are retros and where do you get them... they do look pretty dam awsome. i want some 3rd gens but id rather have retros i think with bixenons instead of fooling with all the other garbage on the 3rd gens.. do you get them already built you must hook them up? how does that work?
A couple of members on here make them...If you want to invest the time and effort you could attempt them yourself, there is a how to on here in the how to section. As for a price refence mine cost 400usd plus my stockers. I have seen them being sold anywhere between 400-600 but let me tell you it is well worth it! or like I said, 200-300$ worth of parts and you could make your own
