a hair dryer or a heat gun but be VERY CAREFUL with that one, some adhesive remover, and some fishing line, i use dental floss, but brand new fishing line works good too

all i can say is......make sure you have lots of time when you do it. you dont wanna rush this.

heres what you'll need:
LOTS of fishing line
heavy duty gloves
goo gone
time (i spent hours on my driveway )
wash and wax

heres what i did:
run through the molding with ur fishing line. they break a lot.....might get annoying

you may have to run it through 2 or 3 times to get one molding off

then i used my fingernail to remove the remaining adhesive (pain in the ***.....i heard hair dryer works too so you mite wanna try that)

after most of the adhesive is gone, use goo gone to remove the remining adhesive

then wash and wax and ur done!

Yeah, I plan to do this with mines after it stops raining around here this week. Is there anything we can use other than "goo gone"? I hear that stuff can damage your paint somewhat.

goo gone is safe, just be careful with it... anytime i use goo gone on my car, i have lots of paper towels handy... when it drips down off of the adhesive, wipe it so it doesn't run down the side of the car... if you do that, you should be fine...

Hey guys, I finally pulled the side moldings off my 2.2 LT. For anyone who wants to know what it looks like, here are some pics to show how smooth the car looks without it. Let me know what you think...

That Chevy bowtie on the trunk is next...

Damn, that looks clean. I need to do that now!

I hate them damn things. My dad said it's for protection from other car doors. Oh well, I usually am at a safe place anyway; haven't had a door dent yet!

Edit: Check sig to see them on my B/W cobalt pic after a wax job!

I use Meguiar's High Gloss, HOT SHINE tire spray. As always, Meguiar's has some good stuff. If anyone was wondering. I used the Turbowax kit for the car itself.
