Its not that hard. I cant remember exactly but you remove the liner under the trunk lid by removing all the push pins. You probably already know that.lol. Anyhow there is going to be a rod going to the lock assembly that is attached to a plastic clip that you just push downward and it will unclip followed by I believe there may be a couple 10mm bolts holding the housing and mabye a clip or something. Sorry for not remembering exactly but once you have that panel removed just take a light and have a good look inside there and you will be able to see whats going on. It really isnt that hard though.

Take off the carpet, stick your hand in behind there and find a clip on the rear of the lock assembly. Pull it horizontally out, the only catch is it is in there real tight.

so you have to take the whole assembly out? or you can actually just remove the outside key lock from it and leave the rest in?

The lock is one whole piece, once you take off that horrible clip it all comes out.

from what i remember it was just a tight ass clip on the lock cylinder, i took that out and the 3 bolts holding the electric lock assembly out, took out the lock, and replaced the electric assembly without the lock cylinder. trunk popper still works

you put it in the same way you took it out, but it seems to come out easier than it goes in lol.
