How to paint your Bowties

I see alot of people on here painting their bowties a different color and I want to join the crowd. I know that the front one is two parts but wasnt sure if the rear one was also two parts. Also how do you go about getting the two parts apart? What do you use to stick the rear one back on after your done? I did numberous searches and found no "how to" reguarding this. Any help is greatly apprieciated. Thanks

The front bowtie comes off on the inside of the bumper and it has 2 10mm bolts on it then you just pull it out. Not sure how to re attach the back bowtie i just took it off. Good luck.

the front bowtie can be pulled apart with a screw driver, and you can glue the bowtie back onto the chrome surround with superglue
then just bolt it back onto the car

Possibly using doublesided 3m tape after cleaning the whole area? I have not done this but it seems like it would work

My custom emblems are attached with 3M tape and they haven't moved a bit... just make sure you get that exterior super strength kind...

Exactly. My 3M tape has been excellent, however, we'll see how it does during the winter!

Well, instead of prying the bowtie from the chrome surround you can always mask it off. I did that after removing the whole badge from the car. Only reason I suggest this other than to keep from gouging your chrome part of the badge is cause when my buddy and I did the first bowties (I had the rear one left over from my first balt) we broke the rear one in half. For some reason mine was superglued on while his was double sided tape (?).

That really sucks... Sorry to hear that. But that's kind of strange because mine was also double-sided tape, just like the front bowtie and it came apart relatively easily.

That color shift sounds cool. You know, you could do what I did. I have metallic black paint I used for my bowties....and then used the same paint for my headlights, upper, lower, and rear grill inserts. Looks great!

Pics are here. yes, car was dirty from a night of rain. Scroll down to my post to see it.
