Arrow Hubby created a new upper grill for the 'balt last night!

I told him to just create a lower grill... he instead took the time to make me a new upper grill! Tonight we will be creating the lower grill! I knew there was a reason we've been together for almost 7 years, lmao.

Chicken wire is close... it's gutter guard, lol. IDK why he wanted to do it, but I let him. He said it would look "ghetto" if we did that to the lower and left the top original. LoL

Good job - that is not easy to do, considering it holds the bumper cover on - how does it look when you open the hood - from the top?

Hey thought, what/how do you mean, holds the bumper cover on? When i pulled mine out to put in my billet, i took out the top grill /rad shroud piece. Then i had to cut the grill off the shroud, in order to use it again, and mount the grill to it. The bottom was just a drill to plastic install.

All of those top clips that cover the rad also hold the bumper cover up. It is also held on with the screws into the wheel wells, but other than tension, those plastic clips hold center of the cover up. They aren't needed per se, just wondering how that looks - did they retain the top part of that plastic, etc.

He did it using the same kind of "clips" that hold the fenderwells in. Here are some pics I just went out and took (I'm not the best at explaining, so maybe these will help):

Great way to do it - maintains the structural aspect of the grill. Right on.

how did he measure it to fit. he just trim the grill until it fit. or he trace the hole out on a piece of cardboard ? I would like to do this but it seems time consuming to get it to fit. how is the lower one being held in ?

It was rather easy to do... this coming from the person just watching, lol. He took the existing grill and cut out the plastic "lines" that you'll be replacing with gutter guard. All you'll have left is the "frame" or outlining of the original grill. BTW, he used a box cutter/razor knife heated by his acetylene torch to cut out the "lines." You take the gutter guard and just hold it over the openings you'll be covering. Take a sharpie and trace where you need it cut. Leave about 1 1/2" over the top and 3/4" at the bottom. This is so you can attach the black things (IDK what they're called, but they're already holding the grill onto the car... a snap locking ring? IDK) will have a place to attach. Look at the pictures above and you'll see where they're attached out of view (when the hood's down, of course). I'll see if I can get the hubby on here to word this better. BTW, you will most likely need a helping hand (this is the only role I played) to hold the gutter guard over the existing grill to trace the outline. That is the most difficult part.

I feel like a dufus for not knowing more, lmao.
