Red face i need everyones advice please, and thank you.

As a few have noticed i have a black 2005 cobalt lt sedan. I love my car, have since i bought it, BUT i have a serious dillema. I have a list of mods i am going to start doing to my car such as lowering, getting a lip kit, bigger wheels in a year, caliper paint, new headlights and HIDS etc, the normal stuff. All i have done is tinted the windows and a system that was installed by the first owner. I have a growing NEED recently (from being a member on this site) to get a cobalt ss coupe. I want one so bad actually that i am thinking about saving all the money on mods i want to get and just trade in my car in a year or two for an ss coupe. it seems like the best way to get one considering my car has very low miles and would give me a good trade in return. Should i do my mods and wait even longer to get an SS or leave it how it is and save my money so ill have more to get an ss in a year or two? Thanks.

ps. i dont know how to drive a stick, but i have always wanted to and know its not hard. (is it a total biatch in the winter with a stick?)

driving stick is easy in any weather once you get the hand of it
And even with low miles cobalts aren't really known for their resale value. You could save up and boost your 2.2 cobalt if you want. I suggest test driving an SS first to see if you like it before you make the decision to get one or not

well i know its not gonna be astronomical resale value haha but it wont be a bad dent in a used SS. I want the SS for the looks and the power really, i have no interest in boosting my current car :/

Yea, sell it yourself. Trade in barely higher then 100$

But an SS is far better then a base. Handling, engine, interier, ect. I would do it, ONLY if you can afford it. Don't go further in debt for it.

Then if you can afford it, and only have a grand left to pay, I say go for it.

FWIW I prefer a manual in snow/ice. You have more control and it's more predictable.

the way i look at it is the 2.2 engine has been out for some time, my tuner had a 10 second turbo cavalier 2.2 eco. longer the engine has been out ( since its been on the J body and now the delta ) there should be a plethora of parts for it unlike the lnf or the lsj that are more recent motors. you have a much better lug pattern to have a wider selection of rims, you could always swap in the leather seats from a wrecked ss or whatnot and still have a fast car for half the price. cheaper insurance too. just my .02 goodluck

haha this is so hard, i think the only mod im going to do to it is lowering, and then thats it. the rest of my money will stay safe for an SS. i went out today since it's my day off i pulled it in the garage and detailed it, it makes me want to mod it haha because i love it, but i want an SS so bad.
