I whole new take on skyline tail light mod!

Update(3-18-11) :OK BOYS THE LONG AWAITED FINISHED PRODUCT IS HERE.
Thanks to CobaltSST/C and doogie_13 for sending me my first two sets of tails. other than me, CobaltSST/C will have the first working set of lights in his car. Doogie was so kind as to sell me his inner tails so I can have an extra set layin around the house.

[color='blue']

∙For everyone interested at this time please send me pm's asap so I can get this all sorted out. and get started on making some kits. THANKS EVERYONE!

∙The way the prices work for those who are messaging me. You'll send me your lights, and Within a couple days I'll have your finished kit in the made.

Due to not being vendor status, I will not be posting prices on my thread. pm me for details

For anyone with an extra set of tails, reverse lights, or any combo of the like that are looking to have this kit done, if you give me your spares, I'll make you a kit at half price! PM me for more details on this offer! and if I get enough spare lights, my turn around time will be much faster as I'll have kits already done, where you would be able to pay me full price for the kit, or ship me your lights as a core charge!

Background:
Hey guys, I've been searchin all over for a decent skyline tail mod for our balts.
I've found a couple, but nothing that looks so simple a child could do it, or one that just takes my breathe away. and I'm all about simplicity.

∙SO! I've decided to come up with my own skyline tail-mod.
∙I've designed a few different sets of lights thus far utilizing the styles I've mentioned above.
∙im posting to see what u guys think of this idea and if anyone would be interested in a mod that i havent really seen done this way.

So my led rings aren't bright enough for this particular prject, still working on somethin new though. Stay tuned for more details!

no i saw it, but it uses a different type of lighting. which is too bright and it just fills the whole lens with light. that's what got me started on this way of doin it.

Good luck, not sure that CCFL is the best way to go since CCFL tends to have a warm up time... I hope they turn out well!! I did a set but they where super complicated and so far only one other person did a set.

Well they wont really be ccfl's just very similar. wont have a warm up time and should theoretically last longer than the car in terms of durability( minus my driving habits). It'll be using L.E.D lights rather than ccfl lights requiring warm up and the like.

I plan on making a more...permanent... solution for light blocking as well. rather than gatorade bottles. Not that your method is bad, I actually just read your entire thread Cptn Pants and you do good work. I'll be documenting the entire build, once I get them done we'll see how much people want these and depends whether I'll be selling a kit, or just trashing the idea. If all goes well I plan to build multiple kits and have clients send their lights to me, and I'll install them and ship em back. all it would cost is the money to ship them here, plus the install. I'd cover shipping product back depending on location of shipping.

Just seems like such a complicated project to make anything like these with such little results and attraction... Good luck though!

You could have just said led halo. Then we all would know what you meant. Still, I don't think this is going to be bright enough to see very well, especially during the day. Also this is pretty much how Cptn Pants did this except he used an led ring, which works better imo and is brighter. You basically do the exact same thing you're gonna do. I though you were literally gonna use just two plain leds, didn't realize they were in a halo.
