weight reduction and looks are usually on opposite ends of the spectrum. Anything you can do without having a significant impact on looks will be minimal at best.

Not entirely true. The Lotus Elise has one of the most stripped down interiors you can find in a production car that weighs less then 2,000 lbs. Its a great example of making function over form look good.

That's a Lotus... we are talking Cobalt's here. They are not mutually exclusive everywhere, but they are on a Cobalt.

Well what I'm saying is you can reduce weight and do it tastefully. Ripping out the entirety of the interior an leaving a shell of the dash, one seat, and a steering wheel obviously will look like hell in a daily driver. But taking some of the cues from higher end cars can help you reduce weight without looking like total ass.

If you mean the plastic dash pieces they literally just pull right off. They can be on there pretty good with those metal clips so dont be afraid to really yank on them or use a screwdriver to help depress the clips.

Simple and inexpensive weight reduction: pull out the spare tire and jack, and swap the stock battery for a 15lb braille battery. You can't run the braille in the winter, but it does just fine in the summer even when DD'ing like I do. All told, that will remove 60lbs from the car and nobody will ever be able to see it.

I took all my trim pieces on the dash and the door trim and wrapped them in 3M's Vinyl wrap. Looks awesome and it only cost me 35. I also wrapped my badges. Next on this appearance list is some dark tint!

this was pretty inexpensive:

$10 for some 3" dryer duct pieces. fits like a glove. 1/30th of the price of an aftermarket intake and i think it actually kinda looks cool. sorry for the shitty pictures, it was like 1am and much bourbon was involved

Side inserts on wings.

I need help finding a part. I would like to put Carbon Fiber side inserts on the stock SS/SC spoiler. as seen in the picture below. The picture below is my car. I had them put on before. Someone has swiped them now I cannot find the part. I do not need the wing or the mounts, just the inserts on the side of the mounts. Thanks for your help.

if photo doesnt appear, here is the url for it. sorry its blurry.
