led boost gauge

How do you switch out the stock light bulb in the boost gauge to make it led?

Some one has done it but i thought the factory boost gauge was sealed?

This is what it looks like with a led.

I thought you couldn't do that as well. If you want answers just pm that person to see what they did.

i have pm'd him and told him how to do it

if i get me another boost gauage i will do one in blue

the only drawback to doing this is messing up your bazel some next time im going to heat it up and remove it that way if i can

anyways here is how you do it

this is not a how to nor am i responseable for any damage done to your car

you take sole responceability in doing this

your remove your boost guage from the side

then you pry up underneath the silver part of the houseing that holds the lexan cover over the boost suage

then remove it carefully

then remove the black covering and the needle this must be done

then unsolder the stock led's that are white

plug the guage into the socket and use a voltmeter to find the - and positive

once you do that you know what way to put the + of the led i used a resistor even though the stock one diddnt have one on the led cause its a surface mount

in therory u shouldnt have to use a resistor

the only thing about not useing one is that u will blow the resistor or not

then once u have it all figured out solder the - to the - and + to the +

there are 2 led's inside of it

if u want it brighter u can rig something else up

put it all back togather and away you go

again i take no responceability on if you ruin your boost gauage
