I was gonna try and help you out but as I was typing, I confused myself and lost my train of thought. Gimme a few minutes to work it out.

thinking....you can ground it to almost anyplace metal. What we did on my friends car friday night, was run to wires, one on the positive terminal on the battery, and one on the negative. If you run wires from your battery (which is in the trunk). Otherwise you could run a wire from the positive terminal in the engine bay and just find a ground, either on the frame or someplace metal where you can just put a wire on. This is just my guess. It is tough because our battery is in our trunk, and I don't know if you really wanna run wires from your trunk to your dash.
