low beams mistaken for high
I havent gotten brighted since I adjusted my gen 4's with 6k hids.
At 20 feet they are at the top of most cars bumpers (on miatas they are on the decklid
). Works well for me and no one brights me.

I had someone flash me today. First time I've been flashed in probably 4 months. My projectors aren't aimed high at all, and it was a guy in a pickup. I just strobed my high beams at him. Fast action bixenon solenoids FTW.
You guys kinda make me laugh, especially the guys saying "i have stock headlights with hid's" haha. You guys are getting flashed for a reason *generally*, you are blinding people. Stock headlights were NOT made for hid's, ever noticed that the halo gen 1-4 headlights don't have metal behind them and aren't wide open lol. Your light is reflecting off the metal and bouncing around into peoples face. So even if you have them pointed low, it's still hitting the metal and going above where you aimed them and off to the sides more etc, everywhere.
So either get the headlights that hid's belong in aka NOT STOCK, or deal with getting flashed.
As for the people with halo's and hid's that are being flashed, make sure you have them aimed properly. When I first got my gen 4's and 6k's I aimed them to what seemed reasonable and I got flashed quite a bit that night. Went up to a wall and lowered them a little bit and I have only been flashed once in 4 months now and I drive at night 90% of the time.
I'm not ranting or belittling or yelling at people with this post, but you guys wonder why you are being flashed when your lights are NOT set up properly and are not DOT approved etc. HID'S in stock headlights are not dot approved and can be illegal in some states, especially if they are colored.
There is a post that is stickied I believe that tells you how to aim projectors, make sure you do it and not just eyeball it otherwise just because you THINK it's not to high, it probably still is
. If you are being flashed, you obviously need to solve the issue. If it's once in a blue moon then you might be fine, but if it happens more then once in a night, then you need to fix the issue and lower them, or get projectors.

i have stock lights painted black with 10k HId's and a few cars will turn there highs on, i have them aimed to the gound i cant see when it rains sucks. plus with the kit i got i have no high beams
Now your making me laugh, the HID retro's don't reflect off of the stock reflector (do you research before you start slamming people even though you claim you're not). And they are basically saying I have HID's in the stock housing, they just didn't use your technical jargon.
HID headlights are the easiest lights to adjust, that fun cut off line everyone either hates or loves makes life simple, stock bulbs are more difficult to aim.
Now I'm not ranting or yelling at you, I'm just going to point out this was a rant thread about other drivers being ignorant.
(I know this does nothing but it simply makes me feel better)

I was not talking about hid retro's, no where did I post anything about them lol. I was talking about people who use STOCK headlights, stock meaning NOT MODDED with hid's blind people because of glare. The retro fit headlights are just fine because they are a lot like regular projectors. Using a non projector head light, or a non modified headlight with hid's is NOT a good idea.

If you purchased projector head lights this would go away completely. You would be able to see at all times, which you should, and you wouldn't get flashed. The reason you have to aim them so low is because there is a metal back shield and because the lights are open. When hid's are not "projected" the light goes everywhere which makes it less focused on the road and blinds others. I highly recommend you get a set of gen 4's so you can see at night when it rains lol.
